Level 1 Core Package

  1. Acting as the competent person for the client organisation as required by s7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1992.
  2. Providing an annual full inspection and audit – to review:
    • H&S policy and management system (if required);
    • Fire risk assessment (if required);
    • Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) risk assessments;
    • Display Screen Equipment risk assessments;
    • Compliance with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment (PUWER) regulations;
    • Manual Handling risk assessments;
    • General Risk assessments;
    • Emergency procedures/evacuation plans.
  3. Providing a full report and action plan regarding the above to include advice and guidance on the compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.
  4. Advice on emerging/new legislation & changes to current legislation.
  5. Providing support and advice with serious incident/accident investigations including statutory reporting of RIDDOR events to the Health and Safety Executive and initial/ongoing support for any civil claims.
  6. Telephone and email access to help and advice.
  7. Pre-Ofsted Health check (subject to availability given short notice of inspection) or a further short visit to review progress against action plan.

Additional chargeable services

to include, but not limited to:

  1. Creation of appropriate H&S policy, H&S management system and documentation of all necessary H&S procedures.
  2. Create and document a crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery plan with associated procedures and staff training.
  3. Provide liaison with all enforcement bodies (HSE, Environmental Health, Police, Fire & Rescue services etc.) and provide assistance with any follow-up actions.
  4. Create, document and validate risk assessments (all types including those for legionnaire’s disease and fire risk).
  5. Client support for construction work covered by and notifiable under the CDM Regulations
  6. Development and delivery of bespoke training for staff (teaching/non-teaching) and governors.
  7. Provide assistance with health and safety requirements for off-site visits.
  8. Provide training/guidance for nominated person (eg caretaker/site manager) to equip them to create risk assessments/inspection check lists etc.
  9. Attendance (subject to sufficient notice and availability) at H&S committee/governor meetings.
